ADMT Tests Bee Maps Mapping and PUDO Precision for Autonomous Mobility

We’re proud to announce that Volkswagen Group of America’s autonomous vehicle testing subsidiary, Volkswagen ADMT, LLC, has selected our real-time spatial intelligence to support its autonomous vehicle testing operations. Bee Maps will provide geo-precise, hyper-fresh road infrastructure mapping data to enhance the precision for pick-up and drop-off (PUDO).
By leveraging Bee Maps’ continuously updated, AI-enhanced street-level data, it will optimize routing precision, increase PUDO reliability, and reduce edge-case risks in complex urban environments.
A Real-world Validation Layer for Autonomy
When a passenger requests an autonomous pick-up, they expect the vehicle to arrive at the curb—no circling, no confusion. Unlike traditional mapping methods that rely on periodic updates, Bee Maps uses a constantly growing global network to deliver fresh, high-precision data where it’s needed most.
“This is a shift from static to living maps,” said Ariel Seidman, CEO of Hivemapper. “We recognize that real-world autonomy depends on high-quality data that evolves as fast as the streets do.”
Maps—both now and in the future—must deliver accurate, up-to-date data for validation, particularly at the curb, where signage, regulations, and conditions can shift hourly. Bee Maps detects these changes quickly and refreshes its data in near real time.
And because Bee Maps is growing fast—already covering 33% of the world’s drivable roads—it’s built to scale alongside ADMT’s expanding fleet.
